It’s that time of year again! It’s the last day of school here in New Mexico and summer has arrived!
We celebrated with a luau themed lunch and play date!
We took the week right after school ended off to just relax, swim at the pool, and get the house ready for summer school. I think I was asked daily if today was the day summer school was going to start! They were excited to begin. I however, needed to get quite a few things done around the house because once school starts, nothing else gets done lol.
Now that our youngest “student” will be entering first grade (crazy!!!), I decided to update our morning board. I changed out the shape cards for more complex shapes or groups. I also added a weather word. Each day we will talk about a new weather word rather than discuss what the day’s weather will be. Considering almost every day is sunny and/or partly cloudy here, discussing each day’s weather hasn’t done much for my little learners!
Our summer school year will consist of 15 lessons and will go for 3 weeks. I am so excited to begin and LOVE how eager they are too!
Won’t you follow along with us this year?
